What illegal orders has the army been given? None.

I’m talking about the army specifically, the most basic grunt has an obligation to refuse to obey illegal orders even if they come from the Joint chief of staff in person. The process is simple, confirm the order, day you believe it to be illegal, refuse to obey until proven wrong.

And again, with both armies being so intertwined, they would be asking to fight their friends, the odds that they would refuse these illegal orders would be even higher. Add the attacks on VA by the Republicans and the worst case scenario would be that the army would be divided and the pro-Trump camp would end up fighting the anti-Trump camp.

With how mixed together the US and Canadian armies are, the grunts would probably rather shoot the people giving the order instead of following them. You might have some MAGA soldiers, but that just means that instead of fighting “the enemy” the US Army will end up fighting itself.

Which would be an illegal order that wouldn’t be followed.

What’s crazy is that in Canada we couldn’t imagine federal elections being handled by the provinces and the centralization means voting conditions are pretty much the same over the whole country (except in very remote location where they send planes to let people vote), but in the US centralizing it with the current administration is just scary…

But there’s corruption and it’s inefficient… It takes days or weeks to get results in some states but not in others, some people simply don’t have access to a place to cast their vote to prevent them from voting for the “wrong” party…

Decentralization isn’t always better, it’s not as efficient and, in this case, it makes it so people’s ability to choose their president varies by state and in red states there’s scheming to prevent the Democrats from gaining ground.

With an independent body and equal access to voting for all, Trump wouldn’t have been elected in the first place.

You say it’s harder to undermine but it’s getting undermined while we don’t have issues like we see in the USA right next door in Canada.

The US system is so weird, federal elections are handled at a lower level of power and differently depending on which state you live in, it makes no sense. You guys need an independent body handling federal elections so everyone’s vote is handled the same way no matter where they live… And paper ballots, fucking hell you guys need to go back to paper ballots.

They needed people competent at what they do in power every now and then to pave the way to the bank and then a bunch of morons in power to open the vault doors for them.

Trump has never heard of someone and then it’s proven that he knows them personally, that’s always how things go with him, so he for sure knew about the article, probably before it was released as they probably asked the White House for comments before publishing.

Those with actual interest in crypto aren’t too happy with the current admin, those who are there for a quick buck are happy though.

An issue I see with US politics from the outside is the fact that when a party loses the candidate just disappears from the map and the party that’s supposed to be the opposition to the one in power is now stuck without a leader. The Republicans changed that with Trump as he kept control over the party during Biden’s tenure and that meant that the Republicans that got elected just got in the Democrats’ way whenever Trump said something even if it contradicted their previous position…

The Democrats need to wake the fuck up and not wait until the last minute to choose who will be their next presidential candidate. They need someone in the driver’s seat ASAP and having someone campaigning for the next four years (LIKE TRUMP DID!) would only increase their chances to make people realize how fucked up things are right now!
