  • Controlling the universities is for control of information.

The Nazis could easily burn down the Institute of Sex Research and all it contents. Today’s fascists cannot burn down the science on queer people and global warming.

Universities have smart people who can say “hey this is the way your economic policies are harming this group of people” or “being LGBT is a normal human variation” or “the American civil war was fought over slavery” or “here are characteristics that seem to be common to every incarnation of fascism, and how they all seem to be related to what’s happening now.”

The idiot arm attacks knowledge online with Alex Jones style “information warfare” - just repeating insane falsehoods over and over again. Never playing defense, always flooding the web with lies and half truths. This is also why fascists love AI so much. (How much time do people waste arguing with bots? And the amount of bots makes these ideas seem more “normal” and common then they are…)

  • “Provide evidence”

    provides evidence

“Actually that doesn’t count and actually it also invalidates your argument.”

Arguing with conservatives is always the same, ain’t it?

Also: “if Elon’s dick didn’t work the news would be so eager to report it the fact they haven’t means it must” is the stupidest argument I’ve ever heard. Why do you need the fascist strongman to be virile so much that you abandon basic logic?

  • “Any ‘abuse’ came in the aftermath, when I was made a scapegoat in order to protect his powerful position.”

And that’s what seals the deal for me. If Clinton gave a shit about Lewinsky, he would have at least tried to protect her somewhat in the fallout. He had fun, she had consequences.

People on the left treated her like shit - I guess it is further evidence that Bill Maher has always been awful. She got played on manipulated on both sides. Her reputation was trashed and she had a hard time finding work after - it destroyed her career and future.

This was a boss that took advantage of his power and authority to get a couple loads out, and then disposed of the person once they became our nation’s designated bearer of the scarlet letter.

I had sex with men who were much older than me when I was in my early twenties. The difference was that they weren’t my boss.

Dan Savage I think had something about “campground rules” too - if you are going to have sexual relations with a legal consenting adult you are significantly older than, it’s on you to use your greater experience to leave that partner better than you found them.

  • Red states also resisted the RealID rollout. They kept having to delay the requirements for requiring them for flights, because states like Oklahoma were pissing and moaning the entire time.

The same kinds of places that don’t want the wrong kind of people to vote intentionally have made the process of getting that identification difficult. I have no idea why I was turned away for a RealID a few years ago, and now I’m not even going to try because having my marker reverted back to an ‘F’ would probably get me killed.

  • How does one organize to put pressure on the APA then….

I don’t understand how the troubled teen industry is allowed to exist. I don’t know if there needs to be some kind of regulation on licensing requirements or what.

The federal government doesn’t regulate; there’s so many ways for them to avoid state regulation. You’d think - the TTI typically traumatizes survivors in a way that leaves them opposed to all forms of mental health care - this needs to be a priority for investigation and research.

There also needs to be a serious push on protections and oversight of inpatient facilities. Especially with the way that the current administration is likely to use institutionalization as a tool for political purposes. I’m familiar with how inpatient facilities work in two states, and have both seen the long term damage and experienced it myself. Patient safety is a serious concern, especially considering that the most vulnerable cannot advocate for themselves.

It is probably how I’m going to get disappeared, so it is a very pressing concern.
