You can cook chicken legs to a higher temp like 180-185°F, but if you do that with white meat it will be dry af.

nayagainst impeachment. I can’s say I am surprised, but I am disappointed.

I think “Rep Paul Tonko is a fascist collaborator” works pretty good.
Wolf@lemmy.todayto politics @lemmy.world•128 Democrats join House Republicans to block AOC, Al Green bid to impeach Trump51·8 days agoI wish more people realized this. Fundamentalist “Christians” are some of the most antisemitic people and no one seems to question why they are Israel’s biggest backers. They literally believe that keeping Israel in power will make supply side Jesus come and rescue them from the awful progressives who want to make sure everyone has their basic needs provided for.

They are fine with it happening to other people. It’s how they can claim to be pro freedom out of one side of their mouth and anti-freedom with the other. Laws for thee, none for me.
Wolf@lemmy.todayto politics @lemmy.world•Bernie Sanders blames election loss on Kamala Harris choosing billionaires over the working class1·27 days agoWell I’m not sure what your point is then. Just keep voting the lesser evil until one day you find yourself in the voting booth gleefully voting for Hitler 3.0 because at least they are marginally better than Hitler 4.0?
Just hang your head and cry about it and do the bare minimum you can do to mitigate the damage?
I’d rather at least try to fight for something better. Even if it doesn’t work out it’s better than just capitulating and being all but complicit in the system that is actively making our lives worse.
Sure, if you happen to already know where the Wedell Sea is or if you look it up it you can reasonably locate it, in which case adding the “north of Antarctica” part is superfluous. But if you don’t already know where the Wedell Sea is, adding in the “north of Antarctica” part doesn’t actually narrow it down any, which is why it’s a funny thing to point out.
If they had wrote “just north of Antarctica” or “off the coast of Antarctica” or “near Antarctica”, that would have narrowed it down significantly.
Now that I have thoroughly explained the joke, I imagine it’s much funnier now.
I’m sure that “Mark “Three-Jabs” Newton” and the rest of us who found this funny were able to deduce from the context that is actually what the writer meant . That isn’t what they actually wrote though so “sp3ctr4l” is not only incorrect in asserting that Mark has “poor reading comprehension”, he is also wrong that ‘reading the whole thing’ would have clarified things and was extremely condescending about his incorrect statement at the same time, which makes him kind of an ass imo.
He was correct that Mark was “intentionally being a little shit” so 1 out of 3 wouldn’t have been so bad if he weren’t such a douche about it at the same time.
There is no part of the Weddell Sea, or any sea that is South of Antarctica.
Which part is south of Antarctica?
We all probably understood that’s what they meant but it’s funny and not super clear. “The Weddell Sea just north of Antarctica.” or “The Weddell Sea near Antarctica.” work much better.
Wolf@lemmy.todayto politics @lemmy.world•Bernie Sanders blames election loss on Kamala Harris choosing billionaires over the working class21·1 month agoHence why I said that wasn’t the only factor in determining my vote.
The question is though, where will it end? I’m 51 years old and ever since I have been able to vote the choices have been between a shit bag, and an even worse shit bag.
At some point we have to put pressure on the DNC to put up someone who is actually woth voting for, and if they know we will always vote for the lesser evil, what incentive do they have to change their strategy?
Harris was already a Republican in all but name and she only looked good compared to Hitler 2.0, if this trend continues the only “choice” will be between a far right fascist, and an extremely far right fascist.
Wolf@lemmy.todayto politics @lemmy.world•Bernie Sanders blames election loss on Kamala Harris choosing billionaires over the working class1·1 month agoSure, but I think the point is that we have to recognize the mistakes in order to prevent repeating them.
It’s not like Harris is ancient like Trump or Biden, and I think a lot of voters are convinced age always equals wisdom, so I don’t think they would accept anyone younger than Harris anyway.
Wolf@lemmy.todayto politics @lemmy.world•Bernie Sanders blames election loss on Kamala Harris choosing billionaires over the working class11·1 month agoI don’t get this one. They were both pro genocide, so how was Trump’s version any better?
Wolf@lemmy.todayto politics @lemmy.world•Bernie Sanders blames election loss on Kamala Harris choosing billionaires over the working class4·1 month agoFrom the POV of someone who just wants the Genocide to stop, “Burning all Palestinians and tuning Gaza into New Vegas” and “Burning all Palestinians and tuning Gaza into vacation homes for rich Israelis” is functionally equivalent.
That was by no means the only issue I based my vote on, but I also don’t think it’s unreasonable for someone to conclude that voting for the lesser of two evils is still voting for evil
Wolf@lemmy.todayto politics @lemmy.world•Bernie Sanders blames election loss on Kamala Harris choosing billionaires over the working class11·1 month agoShe has a decent shot of winning too, with the Republicans who are paying attention and the Democrats who aren’t.
Unfortunately politics is just a popularity contest for most people, so a lot of people aren’t paying attention.
Wolf@lemmy.todayto politics @lemmy.world•Bernie Sanders blames election loss on Kamala Harris choosing billionaires over the working class2·1 month agoI agree with replacing the Dems, but are you meaning to say the alternatives to FPTP are worse? FPTP is the reason we are in the situation we are in imo.
From me too. Reddit wasn’t made because he’s ‘not friendly’, they were mad that Bill was “too woke” and featured a song and dance number by Rachel Bloom that even I found a little cringy tbh. Not because of the message, but I just think it was kind of poorly done. The only people I’ve ever heard say a bad word about Bill were climate deniers, anti vaxxers etc.
I’m proud of Bill for not backing down from politically charged issues, when he could easily ignore them to get more viewers/supporters. Scientists shouldn’t let politics interfere with Science and Science Communicators shouldn’t either.
