I genuinely don’t think it makes a big difference for like 99% of immigrants. The process is pretty much the same. Gotta find work, a home and learn the language. The cultural friction you mentioned mostly affects the immigrants themselves rather than society as a whole.

Plus there are already ways for Americans to move here, especially skilled workers. There are some hurdles of course but it’s doable. Don’t really see why we should make it any easier except for potential refugees like Latin Americans and queer people.

They will come up with a loophole exploit that frames Iran as the aggressor. That’s what Bush did.

The process is simple, confirm the order, day you believe it to be illegal, refuse to obey until proven wrong.

They’ll get jailed or discharged because who cares? If America is at war Trump can do even more crazy shit. Rarely anyone in Europe truly believed that these wars were necessary or even beneficial to protect our borders but most countries went anyway because it was what America wanted. I think you’re underestimating him. First of all the evidece in fact points towards him actually trying to go through with annexing Greenland. Which he might want for its ressources but it would also put him in a much better position against Canada and since he’d be loathed by all his former allies anyway at this point he might as well go all in. Also none of what’s happening is intended to solve the so called immigration problem. It’s first and foremost a front for forced labor. And it’s not gonna stop at immigrants. If they declare you an enemy combatant and throw you in jail it doesn’t matter if you actually are or if your political activism just inconvenienced them. You can’t do anything about it because at that point your consitutional protection is already gone.
