I identify as a Californian first. My US passport holder has stickers of the Californian flag. Many Europeans may dislike the USA right now, but you tell them you’re from California, or they see a California flag sticker on your passport holder, wallet, or phone, and then they won’t be so icy.

Prisoners can’t fill every need. Also, they aren’t typically used as janitors, which is also largely filled by immigrants. Or wait staff at restaurants, or car wash attendants.

I have been trying to convey that to more senior party members. They take their inspiration from the Scottish National Party, which has worked nonviolently to regain some form of autonomy. Having lived in Colorado Springs, I beg to differ. Maybe a significant minority will defect but most military members have a lot of anger towards the world and want to kill anyone in their way.

I’d rather be an independent republic, with all the regions in California becoming states of this new country. And the new constitution must be made so that we don’t have neglect of vast areas of our country, just like we currently have with the US constitution. Otherwise I can foresee far northern California and parts of the central valley becoming bitter right wing states which trample on individuals rights, just like all the red states of the current country.
