So how does your snarky Lemmy comment helps fight fascism again? Does attempts at stopping the organisation of a resistance movement while it’s in its infancy roadblocks the rise of fascism or bolsters it, in your opinion?

More importantly, what effort have you done to organise a resistance that is more effective than the protest that you sneer at?

I think it’s less access to information, it’s more about being bombarded with information that you can’t remember everything, and you can easily forget things you already know or confuse that memory with another misinformation that was repeated many times.

Again, recent examples have shown that people easily forgot how bad Trump’s first term was, and it has nothing to do with not having access to said information.

Can you even read? I said your type of action is what will result in protests being ineffective at uniting the people that will fight against fascism.

People failing to remove fascism a year from now will only prove me right if you still decide to continue what you’re doing. To prove your point, you would need to join up with the protest and stop trying to kill it in its infancy and still fail to remove fascism.

So go ahead and continue what you’re doing and you might prove me right.

People who are serious doesn’t balk at the idea of protesting. If you can’t even bother sacrificing time to sit around to show people that its safe for them to come fight against fascism, there is no way you’d have the guts to sacrifice your life to actually fight against the fascist when the time comes. It’s probably better if you just sit at home and don’t bother talking about fighting or protesting. At this point, you’re more of an asset to the fascists than anything, even if you didnt know it yet.

The process is broken because the people in charge of the processes hadn’t had a reminder that the American people wants them to perform their job. This is that reminder. In order for the reminder to be more effective, we need more people to join in, not more people trying to douse cold water on the movement just to promote more drastic actions that lacks the foundation to do anything effective. You want people to be able to drag fascists out of the White House if the situation calls for it? Then, you need more people that is able to fight against fascism. Easiest method to do that is to protest together and show more people that there is enough people fighting against it for them to come out fighting as well.

If you can’t even bother to stand around to protest, how tf are you supposed to get people to do more extreme actions when the time such drastic actions are required comes around? Your apathetic response to protesting will only lead to a more fractured society that cannot attempt any meaningful resistance to the fascist in the white house.

The Democrats WAS offering something terrible. Just because Trump is worse, doesn’t make what the Dem offered not terrible. If your side had acknowledged this instead of attacking everyone who tried to tell you, maybe you’d have a chance at making the DNC offer something that the voters actually wanted and actually be able to beat Trump. But no, instead everyone that wasn’t blindly accepting everything the Dems offered is treated like the enemy before the election, and now you even continue doing so after the election.

You’re just living in la la land if you think doing this will make people finally support your cause. This is why I say you’re acting smug. You only care that you were right over these people, and not over the consequences of your action on your country’s ability to fight full-on fascism in the near future. What you’re doing is the same as the non-voters, making the wrong choice for the sake of teaching the non-voters a “lesson”. It’s just another chain of stupid decisions the non-fascists are making to enable the rise of fascism.

I’d say good luck dealing with the consequences if you decide to continue doing this. I might not be directly affected by this, by I would definitely feel the fallout after the fact. At that time, I won’t be blaming you any less for enabling fascism than the non-voters.

Why don’t you blame the cause for there to be so many apathetic people in your country instead of blaming the people who were only reacting to the treatment they’ve been given up to now?

Will Americans get tired of being pushed around? They seem to prefer helping the fascists by pushing each other around instead, judging by the repeated attempts on Lemmy to place everything Trump does squarely under the responsibility of the non-voters.
