Could be the plan. Historically, 9/11 style attacks tend to lead in a huge swell of support for incumbent leadership as a showing of national pride and defiance towards the attackers. If Trump can convince one of our many enemies around the world that we’re vulnerable to attack, they might try to pull off another 9/11 which would likely lead to Trump’s poll numbers skyrocketing and would likely also give him a reason to declare martial law, suspension of the Constitution, or whatever other power grab he can think of, and would likely get the support of a sizeable portion of the population while doing so. Trump wouldn’t care about the loss of life, especially if it happens in a blue state. He’d consider the whole thing one enormous win.
But why would they even bother. They can just grab a bucket of popcorn and sit back and enjoy the show while we fuck ourselves repeatedly.
