When the worst person you know makes a good point. There’s no reason to prohibit direct car sales to consumers except lobbying by car dealerships. Still, fuck Elon, he’s much worse than a car salesman.
The manufacturers actually quite like offloading the challenge of selling cars to the dealerships. They force the dealerships to buy their inventory on loan, and reap quite the profit. I remember that one manufacturer made a full third of its profit solely by the interest paid by dealerships who have vehicles sitting on the showroom floor.
Then it makes sense why Elon wouldn’t want to use that model. He’s too dumb to understand it.
